The Danish Castle Hindsgavl is easily accessible from Germany. It is located only 100 km north of Flensburg and 260 km north of Hamburg, close to the town of Middelfart. Artists as audience live at the Castle Hotel in beautiful surroundings right on the little belt close to the island of Funen. In the acoustically outstanding Hall of the castle the musical world class in a frame so intimate concerts before a select audience of only 70 persons, as it is nowhere else to be found.
Monika Henschel occurs 2009 already Quartet with the Henschel for the third time at the Festival: it is wonderful to make music on Hindsgavl Castle and relax. It can be described best with the Schloss Elmau experience of the North. Hindsgavl everything is a little smaller, more relaxed and the audience as well as the musicians this intensively experience the concerts”the musician says. A theme of the Festival is “The North meets Europe”. Every year the best Nordic musicians make music together with famous musician colleagues from abroad. A highlight of this year’s program is the Chamber shoulder to shoulder of two world-class ensembles in the concerts of the Danish-Korean Trio con Brio Copenhagen with the Munich Henschel Quartet.
